I can't seem to connect to a server. It always says "9 char nick drone." and then a closing link. Why??

Try changing your nick to a nick with less than 9 characters.
Logicaly it will connect you

my nick is be||be||e, which is 9 characters exactly, but the command still appears.

Change your nick to test22 and if lets you connect then your nick was the problem.

It was just that your network had all 9character nicks or something in your old nick that was a spam drone mask you can try an other nick but try shorter then 9 chars.

Realize too, some networks don't allow 'characters' other than the alphabet. Always good to test a simple nick when you run into troubles
