I'm new to IRC and i've installed the program no problem. But when i go to connect to a server, i can't. the error it gives me is *Unable to connect to server (software caused connection to abort)

Could some please help? I've filled in all the information field with my name, user ident, all that jazz... so i can't understand why i can not connect to any servers.

There are a lot of possibilities for this, most of which have been discussed and/or resolved in other posts. Please use the Search option and search for

My guess would be a firewall issue, perhaps with certain ports being blocked or perhaps some other program causing a problem. Iif I were you, I'd search the forum for those words, or, perhaps easier still, search the help file for common error messages. I know it's in there somewhere as well.
