You identd is not responding.

First, make sure identd is turned on: /identd on

Secondly, by default, mIRC uses port 113 for identd. Make sure it isn't restricted by a firewall (if any) and that the port is correctly forwarded if you are behind a router.

A ban for that without a prior request to change it is a little excessive but at the end of the day it may well be the best way that network handles impersonation at this time. "Helper" implies that you are a network staff member so it's best to choose another nickname.

The best solution is to ignore people that provide information you didn't ask for. If someone tells you to jump off a bridge you wouldn't do it, the same applies to typing commands in mIRC. If you need help with something it would be best to ask in one of the network's official help channels because the hosts in those rooms generally have to justify what they say in reply to help requests and therefore you will be getting the right answer more often.

In this case, dood, he wasn't g-lined for not providing the ident'd information, but for using a reserved nickname.

My mistake. It was late and I'm getting too used to seeing it.
