I want my mIRC to ignore the CTCP Version so It would not respond to it !
thx.
You cannot block mIRC from replying to CTCP Version. Or, in the words of the help file: "Note: You can't prevent the standard version reply from being sent."
Zyzzyx.
Well I Have a way but It Blocks all types of CTCP
/ignore *!*@*ctcp
so It can be done There must be a way to block that.
Ignoring CTCPs is not ignoring CTCP Version.
The only way to affect a specific CTCP request is through CTCP Events, see /help ctcp events - However, you cannot use that event to halt the CTCP version reply, mIRC will still send the default version reply.
There is no need to hide your version of mIRC or take away Khaled's credit, some channels will even ban you from their channel if you don't reply to CTCP version. Credit where credit's due.
Regards,
Is not that I dont want to give him Credit !
I use mIRC to join MSN CHATS and when u join some chats they send u a CTCP VERSION and when mIRC sends the reply u get banned cos ur entering with a "bot" so they feel threaten.
and thats not the only reazon, sometimes people attack u sending with many nicks ctcp version and when u reply all those ctcp's the server kicks you out or ban ur address because of the Flood that causes.
So thats my real problem.... any ideas?
You're not supposed to connect to MSN through mIRC, see
this post.
