I was wondering if there was a command to reset the mIRC colour index to the default one instead of doing it by alt + k

/help /color

Well pardon me for being insignificant, i already checked that, and after seeing it, i asked someone i knew personally and i got better feedback.
To be honest i don't find /help blah blah being very helpful, might be just me, but i don't like seeing that. n/m smirk

The help file is called the help file for a reason - You were referenced to a particular command in the help file that is quite clearly explained there. If you already knew that command and didn't know how to use it appropriately (which is kinda hard), then it's a slightly different story.

lol .. you asked if there was a command to set color index
and he showed it to you. what more do you want? him to
come to your house and do it for you?

there's nothing in that reply that remotly helped me in any way, it's either a no, or a scripting way around it, which after a friend reading the post, gave me a scripting way around it, so to be frank, a simple reply of /help blah is not always good imo.

Well the command you needed was /color -r and he told you to look up /color in the helpfile. All you had to do was read the six line entry in the helpfile to figure out the precise switches/arguments necessary. It's not too much to ask is it?

Sometimes when people give '/help blah' answers it is useless, however in this case it's all that was necessary.

especially since all he asked for was a command .. not a script.
