This isnt possible because mIRC sends the nicknames to the server on connect in the following manner:

-> server.name.here WATCH C +nickname1 +nickname2 S

as a result the server checks to see if the username is online.

and sends back the following:

-> server.name.here 604 yournick nickname1 identd1 host1 0 :is online

-> server.name.here 605 yournick nickname2 * * 0 :is offline

It is, *impossible* (unless the IRCd is recoded), to do such a thing.

Well.....if I know somebody changes nick a lot and I want to find the person, and I know the person is on a server.

Is it possible to find the person however I don't know the nick he's using at the time, but only know his host?

(Hope you understand my english....hasn't used the language for a long time) blush

The simple answer is no, you can add all his variations of nickname to your notify list, but besides that, you wont be able to..

There is a very slim chance but you could try /who *hostmask here*. Because almost every server now sets users automatically +i (invisible) and a lot of users have the option checked in mIRC options, this doesn't work for most users. 95% of the time this doesn't work but there's no harm in trying it.

The +i (invisible) mode hides you from the /names list when someone executes it from outside a channel you're in, and also hides you from the /who command when not in a channel with the person who executes the command.

You can find nick if it's in the same channel you are.
