i am quite new to IRC. i let my friend come into my channel and fix up the topicmask. i started a new channel and i want to make one. where can i go to find out how?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I am assuming you want to have a topic set for your chatroom right? Well if so, while connected to a server, in your chatroom window double-click or type /channel and at the top of the dialog type something in the topic editbox and click ok..

If i am wrong...I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Just an FYI, you can also change the topic with /topic #channel new-topic-here (might find it easier).
