is irc.dal.net down? it wont let me connect

Due to attacks against DALnet they were forced to shut off access to their main server pool. I have found however, that occasionally it does work. It is much easier however, to use an individual server - I find uk.dal.net and us.dal.net work too. A list of DALnet servers can be found here.
