at one point and time, they said that you could use $left($1-,255) to get around the line too long error, but all that really does is cut it off at 255 characters....

is there a way around the treturous line too long error, in which the script will actually still process all of the information sent to it?

inparticularly, i would like to know this trick for socket events... ie: sockread -fn %variable

i think this is the only "true" physical barrier that mirc has with scripting. too often have i come across it as well =\
