I have just installed miirc 6.03 and want to get connected but it never happens. Something like this appears: Unable to connect(connection timed out). Or this: Unable to connect(cant assing requested address.
Tell me please what I have to do.

It means that mIRC cannot find the server you are trying to log into. Try another server or another network and see how you go.
