does anyone know where i can find the help file for nHTMLn_2.92.dll?
(before you start saying this has nothing to do with mirc, it sort of does, coz thats what the dll was made for smile )
Posted By: KingTomato Re: dll - 19/06/03 07:34 PM
1. Is it mirc oem
No.
2. Was it made by Khaled
No.
3. Is there a readme in the file
Most likely.
4. Does the creator have a website and or forum
Another possibility.
5. Should you check out options 3 and for first
Yes.

no it didnt have a file it came with a google search i downloaded, to check code, then when i figured out 1 of the features(to open internet/programs in @windows) i decided it must have more useful features, yes i was right, it gives mirc a refresh option for when u get stuck in loops, it also allows using html in dialogs.
yes the person does have a forum, i believe the creator was exonyte, not sure though, but i know he knows it well, so i asked him several times(not flooding) and i havent had a single reply since 3 months ago when i posted it.

There's another reason you get viruses, you download from any source available, instead of the authors website.

I don't know, do they advertise "virus checked downloads"? >:D
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:06 PM
well since i increased my antivirus security (yes i now have 3) i decided that this file should be clean after giving it a run through with all 3 ;p
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:07 PM
also thanx, i found what i wanted grin
attaching browser windows to dialogs cool
Posted By: The_Game Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:12 PM
Keep in mind not all AV's catch any and everything...I've caught more viruses with AVG than norton an mcaffe combined...

I think all the popular websites are reasonably trustworthy otherwise they would not be popular with the clientelle they attract. However I am one who puts nothing to chance and Imake sure that AV software is updated everyday and I scan EVERYTHING before running it. Even commercial stuff like Office and even mIRC. This isn't to knock the things I use, it is just called being careful.
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:16 PM
i know but if ive had this file for at least a month, i would think i would of at least noticed a change in my system, i also have a program that alerts me when an unknown change in registry occurs when the program isnt on my "trusted programs list"
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:17 PM
also would you rather see a site that says: no files are checked using antivirus software, or 1 that assures you they have done their best to make sure?
Posted By: The_Game Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:23 PM
Tell me thats not a trick question LOL.....anyways Its just something I thought that I would share about my av programs...that not all programs can catch everything...
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:31 PM
i know but most people with half a brain, would like to see a message saying it has been checked
Posted By: KingTomato Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:33 PM
just curius, do you fall under that category? grin
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:35 PM
confused
Posted By: Poppy Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:36 PM
What if sites gave a 'guarantee' that their downloadable stuff was virus free, then turned out not to be? What's stopping any old site giving such a guarantee? Personally, I'd like to see sites - especially reputable ones - give a warning to the effect that while every effort has been made to check files for viri/trojans etc, the ultimate responsibility lies with the user.
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:37 PM
yes thats why most reputable sites, ask you to click an agree button when trying to download a file.......
Posted By: Poppy Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:39 PM
Again - what's to stop the not-so-reputable sites doing exactly the same thing? Nothing at all.
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:41 PM
normally i find anything i wish to download on mircscripts.org or techgear007.net, which i think many people trust a lot and i dont think they would want to give up their reputation to hand out a few viruses =o\
Posted By: Poppy Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:43 PM
Err...so where did you get all your viri from?
Posted By: pheonix Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:45 PM
google and kazaa(nothing to do with mirc files)
Posted By: Poppy Re: dll - 19/06/03 08:48 PM

No, actually mircscripts.org has a very lacking security system. Once you submit version 1.0 of a file, even a dll, you are free to post unchecked files. Meaning as soon as you click "update" version 2.0 is immediately added to the download page. So I make version 1.0 100% secure and virus free. The moderators see it and add it. Now I release a "bug fix" in version 1.1 and version 1.1 is really a virus. No one actually checks the file it just goes right onto the site and people will download it.
