E-mail notification of updates - mIRC Discussion Forums

On Nov. 23, 2006 at 4:18 pm EST, Krejt posted a topic in the Latest News section informing us of mIRC 6.21

On Nov. 30, 2006 at 1:49 am EST, I received my e-mail notification of the release of mIRC 6.21

Is it me, or does there seem to be something wrong with the e-mail notifications not being received for about a week after the release?

I received the email several hours after the post was made. It seems kind of strange that your email didn't arrive for days. Maybe there was a problem with the email server.

I'll make enquiries, but as all of my other e-mail seems to be showing up in a timely manner (seconds or minutes after it was sent) that seems unlikely.

Was it your yahoo (bairstow@yahoo.com) address where the announcement arrived late? A few hour after release all mails had been delivered, apart from thousands of addresses at Yahoo and similar providers, and about 300.000(!) Hotmail addresses. These providers were terribly slow in accepting the mails....

No, but your response does explain it as it was my hotmail account.

Is there a way to change the address that those e-mails go to? I realize I could just register another e-mail account, say the one that I pay for, but there's no need for me to have two addresses listed for e-mails.
