...I been trying to join this channel "#punjabiroots" on irc.gigairc.net...it doesn't matter what nick I have and doesn't matter how many times I register...it keeps kicking me out by saying "You were kicked from #punjabiroots by Priyanka (You are not permitted to be on this channel.)"....my friend is having the same issue....what could possibly be the reason?

Chances are, the room is in a restricted mode, only allows peeps on the OP lists, etc. If this is the case then there is no way around it. Join another room.

Thanks for the reply watchdog....isn't there a way to get in contact with one of the OPs? A while ago (2 or 3 years back i think) I use to be able to get on the channel without any problems. Or isn't there a way for me to become an OP, I am sure this is far fetched, but anything to get in that channel...lol...thanks

type /names #channel_name
if lucky, list of names will reveal itself
showing who is op and who isnt.

if you find op's on list (nicknames with @) just
/msg them or /query them

if that does not help then type this:

/window @debug

then type: /who #channel_name

in new window called Debug you will find
results simmiliar to this:

server_name WHO #channel
server_name 352 you #channel irc_name host server nickname H*@d : bla bla bla


if @ sign is in that/those lines (depends how many lines you have as result),
then nickname is OP
so this is alternate way of finding ops in channel

Try asking Priyanka, the one banning you.
