I know posting asking about when the next mIRC version is going to be released is not allowed, but I am NOT asking that.

I am asking IF there will be a next version of mIRC. I know it has been a long time since the last release, and I have heard that khaled was thinking about not releasing a new version. I think if what I hear is true, someone should at least have enough decency to say so. I do not want to be waiting for a new version if there is not going to be one.

So will someone clear this up for all the people waiting for the next version?

I have repeatedly said that mIRC has not ceased development. If it had, Khaled would have said so.

I think Khaled is a figment of our imaginations; an elaborate hoax to make us believe that mIRC was created by a single person, and not the government as an elaborate experiment to test human gullibility – or NOT! lol

no no no no !!! Khaled is nothing more than a marionette controlled by Arnie to program mirc for the masses. Meanwhile, Arnie sits behind the scenes and makes us salivate like Pavlov's dog while waiting for the next version which has been done for months and should include the new option of surgical nuke launch and level 25 newbie eradication ;-)

Well, I have heard that about Arnie beore, so I KNOW its true, I'm not too sure about the nukes but a level 25 newbie eradicator could be really handy at times.

Even if, as you say, development hasn't ceased (you've said that many times but you can't prove it) it'd be nice to hear from Khaled from time to time to know what's going on; is development slow? Are there a few problems that need to be ironed out before a release? Has he lost interest in the project? I could carry on..

I was recently contacted by Khaled to get more information about a bug I had reported a while ago. Once he had managed to duplicate the bug, he told me that it would 'be fixed in the next version' or words to that effect which suggests that development is still being done.
