Hiya guys, its me again, the local dumb-ass lol.

I need more help i'm afraid - i'm baffled. I've registered my new channel on Dalnet, aswell as my nickname too. Despite me being the channel creator, every time I access my new channel, I don't get the '@' symbol before my name - any ideas why?

Cheers guys

Most channels have the 'Ident' option set on, meaning you need to Identify to your nickname before you can be opped. To do so, use /nickserv identify password. Then type /hop in the channel and ChanServ should op you.

Nice one mate, that works a treat.

Is there a way to set it permanently so that it does that as soon as i identify myself?

Also, is there a way of setting a topic in the room that displays permanently even when i leave?

You can't make ChanServ op you as soon as you Identify (without a script of some sort), so you could just identify before you enter the room. You could put the identify command in your Perform section: ALT+O > Connect > Options > [Perform...]. You might want to click on the 'Add' button and make it specifically work for DALnet.

As for the topic situation, for DALnet specifically there is a keeptopic option: /chanserv set #channel keeptopic on - This makes ChanServ retain the topic even when everyone leaves.

For further Services help, ask in #Help on DALnet.

To do that automatically: (mirc 6.xx)

Open mIRC and press Alt + O, then go to Connect > Options and click on the button Perform. On the popup that appears, click on ADD and then select DALnet from the dropdown list.
Click Ok.
Now, in that big white box below, type /.msg nickserv identify PassWord - then click OK.

I think that will do smile

I dont know how it works on DALnet, but if you set the topic through ChanServ and enables the Topic Lock option, it usually saves the topic smile type /msg chanserv help for more help smile

Zyzzyx.

Mentality you're way to fast :P
