PROBLEM: First, let me say that this problem did not happen with mIRC until I updated to version 6.03. Unfortunately, I can not remember what version I was running before I updated.

When I close mIRC I get three error stops, with the big red X, in a row that look like this:

THIS PROGRAM HAS PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN.

IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, CONTACT THE PROGRAM VENDOR.

Each is expanded in detail below. As I click CLOSE on each one I get another immediately. After I click CLOSE on the third one there are no more.

Sometimes I find that after I exit mIRC and open the Task Manager, there is still an instance of mIRC listed under the currently executing tasks. This is not consistent.

In fact, I am having one heck of a time repeating this thing. It happens about one out of every four times I run mirc.

I do not believe so. I am not sure what a script is.

Press alt+r and see if there is something in the text box that appears, also select other files (if there are any) from the View menu and see if there is anything in them. If there is then you have a script installed. Open the mIRC 6.03 (make sure you get it from this site) installer again and install it into a different directory, then see if the new installation works.

easier way is just

//say I have $script(0) script(s) running.

If the number os above 1, you have to have a script running. >:D (Unles remote is off)

EDIT: Infact just do /remote off and see if you can get an error one more.

Not true, if it's 1 then you have a script file loaded that may well have stuff in it. I told him to install a fresh copy of mIRC to make sure no DLL's that may have come with the script were screwing it.
