New bug in mIRC 7.22. When using favorites to create a new channel, the channel is not created with the password remembered in the favorites option.

Way to reproduce:

1) Open mIRC and connect to a server.

2) Open Organize Favorites, give a non-existent channel name and some password.

3) Click on this favorites entry to enter the channel.

4) Observe that the password was not set.

This behavior did not happen in mIRC 7.19.

I can't reproduce. The password shows up when I click edit and /debug @debug shows the password being sent in the JOIN command. Are you sure you don't have a script or bnc messing with this?

i find the same thing in 7.19 as in 7.22, if the channel doesn't yet exist, i enter into a channel without a key set. But if the channel already does exist, the key is sent along with the join and allows me to enter the channel with the key already set.

IRC just doesn't work that way. You can't set a key for a channel until after you've joined it. Maintaining a persistent channel key would be better left to services like ChanServ on most networks.
