Transparency is a realy cool feature with programs witch you use frequently and you want to blend them with your desktop enviroment, so I would like to request transparency for mIRC im not talking about channels or querys that you have set to desktop, I want to be able to put the main mIRC window and blend it with my desktop.
I hope to see this feature in the next versions, thank you

/setlayer N will do this for me (on WinXP Home). N can be from 0-255 and I've no idea why it isn't documented.

I just tried it on Win 2000. She works but very slow which is a shame, it's a good effect.

thanks for the fast reply, but when I tryed it /setlayerN put's it on 100% transparency, I had to end task mIRC so that it didn't save it's settings, when I tryed /setlayer "input" it worked, so N is for full right?

Try this:
For some transparency type /setlayer 200
To return to 0% transparency type /setlayer 255

Hmm, yes. I just checked with my new laptop, an AMD 2200 Compaq and there's no slowdown. The machine I tried it on this morning was a P200, typical hehe.

You can also specify a window name as a 3rd parameter, as long it's a desktopped window.
Example:
/setlayer 150 @window
