hello agian,

i'm trying to make an option for a script i'm working on, this option basicly just echos everything that's going on in a specific target channel into a window. my question is this is it possible to have it do the following? :

when i move the main script window and this option is enabled, to have the option window move along with the main window. the option window's size would be preset, so i would need to change x,y corordnates to match the main windows new position (i'm guessing)..

can this be done?

i hope i'm making some kind of sense here...

Im sure it could be done on some event, or with a timer, but (and i dont actually use this so i cant be sure) I beleive MDX DLL has window docking options, which would take care of all this for you, you would just dock the second window to the first and whamp its done.

okay,
thanks dave, although i've managed to avoid the use of mdx (mainly cause it's all greek to me) i'll check it and give it a go..

EDIT:
okay, i now have mdx and a couple tutorials but, i don't see any mention of window docking outside of a mention of an aditional docking dll..???? and the home site seems to be down atm frown

With MDX you can dock a Window into a Dialog (listbox I think). Not sure if you can dock a Window into another window, or a Dialog into a Window. shocked

HoS.dll allows Custom Window docking and alot of other cool options too including adding status bars etc. This DLL can be found here.

your correct slade however, it only allows you to dock cwindows and or dialogs around mirc itself according to docs frown frown

thanks for the input just the same slade.. smile

i'm very surprised that no one has come up with somthing for this yet. i mean theres toolbar docking, dialog to cwindow docking, and docking that is docked around mirc.. go figure. crazy oh well, i guess

There was a DLL that could dock Custom Windows into channel windows etc, but I can't remember which one it was, damn..

I'll keep searching though.

i think ktools.dll was able to do that.. but i havn't tried it becuase all reports i've seen on it said that it really didn't work to well with versions of mirc 6.+.. and needed to updated... but nothing more. confused

a shame too, i know that i cant be the only one who has been or will be interested in this specific subject..
i'm gonna keep searching myself wink

No dude, it wasn't KTools. I swore blind it was an earlier version of HoS.dll but I can't remember.
