Hi
I was chatting on mIRC when I "fell" off. When I tried to reconnect my nickname was in use, so mIRC automatically changed to my alternate nickname. I "fell" off again and now it says both my nicknames are in use. It's been 2 hours and my nicks are still in use. I tried killing them using the ghost command but they automatically rejoin. How can I get rid of the ghosts so I can sign back in with my nickname?

This sounds like:

a) someone else is using your nickname (your can check if it's you by doing a /whois <nick> to see if it's your info there)

or

b) instead of reconnecting you have multiple copies of mIRC running (the /whois info should then show your information). Make sure to check your tray (bottom right near the Windows clock) and/or the Task Manager.
