I can see when other people type in Japanese Text, but when i type it (it shows in the textbox how it should be) and then hit enter to send it (two times are needed for some reason) all the characters turn into Question marks (???) Can someone help?

try changing the font that you are using in mIRC. seems to me it was trying ariel unicode that stopped giving me ???? with cyrillic text. (click on tools/font in mIRC to see what you are using now and have for fonts to try)

you're welcome, sorry it didnt help tho...using a unicode font worked for me. Out of curiousity, what OS are you and the person who tried the same font successfully using?

Seems to me that a long time ago someone posted a specific prob with Japanese fonts... maybe related to XP? Anyone remember? (once again i think sadly of all the lost posts)

We both have XP. But ive found the solution, and i was to goto the control panel language settings and then advanced and choose japanese as the language for non unicode programs.. it has some sideeffects but it did the job and im happy typing in japanese.
