OP EcKstasy Self-satisified door E Joined: May 2008 Posts: 3	How can I run mIRC with a different file name, other than mirc.exe?, Older versions allowed me to do this.. but not the latest. Is there some sort of CRC/security checks so I can remove them?

Horstl Hoopy frood H Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 1,559 Germany	It's a security feature - in the past some viruses (for example) used copies of mIRC (which they installed and modified themselves) for a 'variety of malicious purposes', running in the background in disguise of another task (e.g. a system task). While you can't rename the executable to whatsoever., you may rename it to mirc**.exe
