Hi

Last night a discussion arose if it's possible to have a Quit
Message while chatting on Java. The server is Dancer Ircd.

I spoke with an iRCop but she had no idea if it was possible. If anyone has any ideas if such a command exists, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for tollerating my peskyness

the java client should accept the /quit <your message here> command which is pretty much standard across IRC servers

thanks for your help.

the command doesn't work as /quit <message>. It simply disconnects without any message. Although it will allow a part message, using the same type of line command /part <message>.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Sometimes a server will block you from sending a quit message until you have been logged in for a certain time. For example, on the network I use, you need to be connected for more than two minutes or no quit message is allowed.

Another issue may be that some java clients are not very suportive and they may not have quit messages allowed for in their command set. Using /raw or /quote will probably not work either.
