last night my power went out and before it did my power blinked 3 times then went out now my comp is freaking out like when i shut down win XP pro it says "Windows is shutin" instead of saying "Windows is shuting down" and all kinds of weird [censored] is going on like now lines apear and disapear accrossed my screen black boxes apear around the start menu and other stuff letters blend with the background of stuff like on IE the top half the title bar is black the other half is white then it some times has a distored /// next to it..... if any one knows any thing and how to fix this problem plz reply like do system recover or what? idk what to do i did back up my files just in case any thing is helpful for me thank you if anyone can help -_-
Backup any data you want, if you can. Then do a full system restore. Your computer should have come with a restore CD.
You should be in the habit of backing up files that are important regualry to a CD or Tape Drive. You can never be too careful.
You may also want to consider getting an UPS (Uninterupted Power Supply) for your computer. They last about 15 minutes and give you plenty of time to save files and shut down proberly if needed.
