T3? That would account for about 0.0000000001 % of mIRC users. Here in Australia a T3 is about $6000 - $7000 a month, which is probably why. I can only imagine that the cost is similar elsewhere.

Hi Watchdog ...nope sorry to disagree with u. A 10 megabit full duplex bandwidth fiber optical connection (called T3 improperly as is very similar to T3) in Italy is sold for 40 €/month 24/7 (inclusive of national unlimited phone calls) ( shockedalround 35-40-US$ shocked) so many ppl would have very soon. Do u think will be difficult to change masks and dbase diemension for that record?? ciao take care wink

a 10mb/s connection isn't even close to a T3. A T3 is a 45.544mb/s thats more than 4 times 10mb/s. And you didn't even make sense, a T3 doesn't use phone lines, so what does unlimited phone charges have to do with anything? Nothing. What you are talking about is a subscriber network, such as DSL or cable, just faster. a T3 is a completely dedicated connection, there is a HUGE difference.

Oh also forgot to mention, a T3 in Italy costs almost 3x what it would cost in the US.

There is a good speed bit in mIRC, I've tested it with my local lan and it works quite well. However, considering most users would not even come close to the T3's speed, it should not be an issue.

Also let me remind you that if you're on a T3, you're usually sharing that line with other users. I highly doubt that anybody here has a T3 they can dedicate to themselves since they are highly costly. Therefore, utilizing *all* of the bandwidth of the T3 connection is not needed nor is it even possible. This also would play hell with system admins.

Just use FTP or something else for high speed file transfers.

Getting a proper T3 for US$40 a month would be better than winning lotto. Even if that price was possible it'd never happen down here lol.

Well, nevermind T3.. a:
"10 megabit full duplex bandwidth fiber optical connection" sounds pretty unreal for $40 ...Maybe that's nothing for US/Italian people though.
