Hello,
While I was typing on mIRC on server irc.wikked.us my mIRC pulled a 'Connection Closed' Stunt on me. I wasnt to mad because after 5 or 6 min it comes back. But OHHHH NOOOOOO! Its been around 24 hours so I decided to post here. I talked with an WW Admin and Im NOT banned and Im on the right post and I have the server name correct.

* Connecting to irc.wikked.us (6667)
-
* Unable to resolve server

I get that. I didnt change anything when it was and wasnt working. It was completley random. I even re-downloaded and re-installed it and no dice. My java wont work either for Wikked but I can go on other servers. And NOW any site that has 'Wikked' in the URL (I.E. www.wikked.us) wont even show up but everyother site works fine. Even my AIM and MSN stuff works. So I dunno if you guys can help but its GREATLY appreciated.

/me goes through chat withdrawls

Wait...did I just....

Try looking at the <system>\drivers\etc\hosts file (<system> is c:\windows\system32 on windows xp, not sure about other os's), it should look like this:

Quote:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

If it does look like that, then try connecting to the server ip rather than server name: /dns resolves it to 69.64.51.196

If it doesn't look like that, then try scanning your system for viruses, spyware, etc.

You seem to be having some issues resolving the domain. Maybe your ISP's dns server attempted to resolve it at one stage, received an error and has stored that error for a while.

You could also try using the 'repair' option shown when you right click the network connection in your system tray, or by rebooting your computer/router (which may also be caching the dns error).

Anyway, you can connect by using the IP addresses below:
irc.wikked.us has address 69.64.50.139
irc.wikked.us has address 69.64.51.196
irc.wikked.us has address 69.64.39.137

Hope that helps smile
