When I request something...the only message that appears is " You are not on a channel,", even though I am. I don't understand.

What exactly are you "requesting" and in what window.

I request anything from Isoz and movies...I do it in the main window, the one that shows when your connecting.

When you type something, you need to type it in a channel window. The Status window (that displays when you're connecting) is not a valid window to type in as the text doesn't go to anyone else.

Please note, mIRC is not a file trading program. We do not help with obtaining 'moviez' or other forms of warez. Please see this post for further information.

You need to join one by using the /join command. For example, /join #Chat.

That can be done easily, but I still don't understand how it's done.

That's probably because you want to know how to access file servers and XDCC bots, etc. etc. - but we're not going to help you with that.

Type something like /join #chat - then all you need to do is type words on your keyboard, press 'Enter' and everyone else should see what you type. If you're not interested in doing that, not much point using Internet Relay Chat.
