I'm new to this forum, but I'm looking all over for someone who might be able to help me.

My stolen aim screen name is 'transatlantc foe' and I had a brief conversation with the guy who stole it from me and he said he used 'aol nickserv exploits' to steal it.

My screen name for the time being is 'ninjaflipsout' and my email is montaguerb@vcu.edu

The email account designated to receive the password incase a user forgets their password has been shut down (probably by the same guy.)

If anyone can help me get my screen name back it would be greatly appreciated.

I read this, then later thought, what if it isn't an AIM problem?
Maybe some of the online scanning sites;
for trojans and the like
& usual helpful suggestions and precautions,
should be offered to this person too?

dunno.

The original poster would need to talk to the ppl at AIM about the possibility of recovering a "stolen" nick. Beyond that however, as you said, a trojan may or backdoored script may be how the other person got the password. An assortment of resources can be found in this thread
