In reference to my previous post. I sign on to sandnet and it initially worked fine. I turned off my PC came back the next day and this is what I got.
[5:15pm] * Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Connect retry #1 irc.sandnet.net (6666)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Connect retry #2 irc.sandnet.net (6665)

I uninstalled Mirc and reistalled. I was again able to connect. However, at the end of the night I turned off my PC when I went to sign on the following day I got this.
[5:15pm] * Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Connect retry #1 irc.sandnet.net (6666)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)
————————————————————
[5:15pm] * Connect retry #2 irc.sandnet.net (6665)

Any suggestions why this is happening??????

All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Hey there,

Do note, it is completely unnecessary to make a completely new post for the same problem, it causes confusion and indeed irritation to others smile

The 'Connection refused' error message usually occurs because the server is actively refusing your connection. A few things to try are:

- Change the port you're using
- Try connecting to the server's IP Address. Type /dns irc.server.here and then /server ip.address.here.
- Try connecting to an individual server for the network and not the network server 'pool'. Check out their website for details.
- Try different networks to see if the problem is at your end or at the server's end. If you can connect fine to other networks then it's the server's problem and there's not a lot you can do.
- Be patient and wait for the server issues to sort themselves out.

Because this is most likely a server issue reinstalling mIRC or loading scripts will not help. Check out the network's website, see if you can find a list of servers of a forum/email to contact to find out what you can do.

You may also want to use the Search feature as many topics have been started about this issue before. Expand to 'All Forums' and 'All Posts' for best results.

I hope the issue gets sorted soon.

Regards,

Mentality/Chris
