I think this shouldn't be TOO difficult to implement.

In mIRC options, under display > tray, put an option such as:

Taskbar Only
System tray Only
Both Taskbar AND System tray

with 3 radial buttons to choose from.

This would help to clear the window from the tasbar completely for those of us who have pure junk there smirk

THANKS, take care!

All that mostly exists now. Only one that would need to be added is "Tray Only". It's a good idea. In the mean time however you can use a small .exe to it. Necroman wrote it (as far as I can remember, correct me if I am wrong) though I forget what it is called, as I have renamed it, and where I got it from. Though the basic idea is that you have a shortcut to it in the quicklaunch bar and simply click on it to remove the mIRC button from the taskbar and click again to return it. If you have mIRC set to "Place mIRC in tray when minimised" it basically does the same effect as the option I mentioned before.

If you want to minimize mIRC to tray without leaving it in the taskbar, you may press Shift while clicking the Minimize button (or clicking the taskbar item).
