Forums mIRC Help somebody help !

i was using mIRC version 5.91 and one day it just suddenly dissappeared. i re downloaded it and then even the installation wizard disappears before i can even read anything on it. i downloaded version 6.15 but when i open a chat room in it .. i cant see any users except me myself and i. whats happening ?

I dont know why 5.91 would have suddenly disappeared or a clean download doesnt wish to cooperate with installing, but
i'd certainly be checking for any virus on your system for starters. You can find lots of good resources on this forum thread.

all things considered you are prolly better off using the latest version.

As for the channel problem, i assume you've tried different channels and networks?

Well ok iv given up on the last version
but in 6.15 .. i know i went thru the right channels .. but how do i know what networks to check .. i havent used mIRC much. i dont know baby's diapers about it

Analogy:

Imagine IRC as a country, networks as cities and channels as streets. mIRC is of course your car.

If you get in your car and drive to a street, you need to know which city it's in. Otherwise it will have different people living on it, or may not even exist.

If you don't know the network that the channel was on, try looking for it at SearchIRC.
