The Connection Refused error message means that the server is actively refusing your connection. There was recently a thread about it, see this thread and look at the links too. Try another server on the network.

As an FYI, I deleted your other thread in the General Discussions forum. Also, if you have connection problems in the future, the 'Connection Issues' board is the appropriate place but it's not terribly important. To avoid confusion, I have left this thread here smile

Go to the network's website, see if you can find a list of servers there and connect to another server. If none of the servers are allowing you to connect, then you will need to contact the network administration and see if they can assist you. mIRC has nothing directly to do with the connection between you and the server, it just allows that connection to take place.

Can you connect to other networks OK? For example, /server irc.undernet.org, /server irc.dal.net, /server irc.quakenet.org - or do they all give you the same error? Make sure you read all the advice in that thread I linked to, including zaz's post which mentions firewalls and the like which may be causing the issue. That's more likely if it's affecting every network you connect to.
