Hey there,

Services such as NickServ, ChanServ, MemoServ and so on are completely unrelated to mIRC. They are specific to the network that you connect to - not all networks have these Services and they do not come with mIRC. Remember that mIRC is just an IRC client that allows you to connect to IRC - it isn't IRC itself.

For help with Services you will need to go to the #Help channel for your network or search their website for documents that might cover all the Services commands. Usually, ChanServ deals with AOp/SOp access.

If you use DALnet (And I only single DALnet out due to fact it's the biggest network with NickServ/ChanServ) then you can get a guide to their Services on their Documents Page.

G'luck!

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

Sometimes with the smaller networks there aren't active people. If you type /list you can find some large channels or /list *help*.

If you're using AccessIRC.net then they have a Services manual on this page. Hope that helps.

Also try sending the command "help" to the services.

try /MSG CHANSERV HELP

The network may also support the /CHANSERV style commands. Also check the server /MOTD to see if it lists any resources for help such as channels, commands, websites or mailing lists.

Examples from DALnet using /msg chanserv suggestion

Code:
[22:41:25] -> *chanserv* help
[22:41:26] -ChanServ- Error! "/msg ChanServ" is no longer supported. Use "/msg chanserv@services.dal.net" or "/chanserv" instead.
[22:41:37] -> *chanserv@services.dal.net* help
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- ***** ChanServ Help *****
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- ChanServ gives normal users the ability to keep hold of a
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- channel, without the need for a bot. Unlike other IRC networks,
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- channel takeovers are virtually impossible, when they are registered.
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- Registration is a quick and painless process. Once registered,
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- the founder can maintain complete and total control of the
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- channel. ChanServ will stop monitoring a channel if no Op enters
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- the channel for 30 days or the founder's nick expires.
[22:41:38] -ChanServ-
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- For more information on a command /msg ChanServ@services.dal.net help <command
[22:41:38] -ChanServ-
[22:41:38] -ChanServ-
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- Core Commands:
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- REGISTER - Register a channel
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- SET - Change various channel configuration settings
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- SOP - Maintain SuperOp channel operator list
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- AOP - Maintain AutoOp channel operator list
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- AKICK - Maintain the channel AutoKick banned user list
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- DROP - Drop a registered channel
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- SENDPASS - Request that your password be sent via email
[22:41:38] -ChanServ-
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- Other Commands:
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- IDENTIFY ACCESS OP DEOP
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- INFO INVITE MKICK MDEOP
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- UNBAN COUNT WHY ACC
[22:41:38] -ChanServ- ***** End of Help *****
[22:41:50] -> *chanserv@services.dal.net* help register
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- ***** ChanServ Help *****
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- Command - REGISTER
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- Usage - REGISTER <channel> <password> <description>
[22:41:51] -ChanServ-
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- When you register a channel with ChanServ, you don't need to
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- worry about takeovers, or bots to keep a list of Ops. ChanServ
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- does all of this and more. The founder is the person who does
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- the registering. Make up a password to register with. The
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- password is used so that only the founder can completely
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- control the channel. The description is only used when a
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- user asks ChanServ for information on a channel, and you make
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- this up also.
[22:41:51] -ChanServ-
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- *** PLEASE NOTE: Also, PLEASE memorize your password, write
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- it down somewhere, but PLEASE remember it! You will need it
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- later on. Also, all passwords are case-sensitive!
[22:41:51] -ChanServ-
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- Examples:
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- /msg ChanServ@services.dal.net register #DragonRealm adminchannel Admin channel
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- /msg ChanServ@services.dal.net register #Macintosh NeXTStep Macintosh channel
[22:41:51] -ChanServ- ***** End of Help *****
