This is what I'm getting on all of my attempts to connect.

I use Norton Personal Firewall, which I have disabled and have tried to configure the XP firewall for access to port 113..nothing seems to be working...

The links and information in this thread might help. Are you getting the connection refused error with all networks you try, or is it just an EFnet issue? Have you done anything recently on your computer that may have triggered this?

You might try using the Search feature - expand to 'All Forums' and 'All Posts' for best results. Might also want to try the EFnet round robin, irc.efnet.net, and perhaps use port 7000 or above.

Hope you get it sorted smile

My connection is getting refused for every network I try...not just Efnet.

It's never been working since I've downloaded it

I've tried changing the port numbers, and I get nothing. I tried searching like you said, but all that does is send me to the same threads over and over in a huge circle where I haven't found a solution yet...

Well if you've used all the information here I doubt it's a problem with mIRC itself. Perhaps try another IRC client and see if it works with that.

You might try contacting your ISP and see if they have made any changes since you started experiencing this issue. Although I also doubt it's a Windows problem try using System Restore (for XP/ME) and set it to before this problem started and see if that helps. You could also try Microsoft's Support site.

I think out of all the information, your ISP is the most likely issue.

Just an FYI, you do have 2 hours to edit your post, so if you forgot to include something, you can go back to add to it rather than posting twice smile

Try completely uninstalling Norton Firewall, it can cause problems sometimes even without being enabled.
