My windows is not opening this type of adresses:
<a href="irc://irc.lv/#lja" target="_blank">irc://irc.lv/#lja</a>
(for example)confused,
what should I place in my browser or mIRC,
maybe somekind of plugin is needed?
I don`t know...

please help me to know more about this adresses...

Any information appreciated.

No plugin is needed. From my own experience the function stops working if I delete the address list though.

Senx, but I haven`t deleted nothing... And this function is not working and never worked, maybe is some place ni windows or mIRC folder, where I supposed to activate it?! confused

I understand that after clicking this type of adresses my mIRC suppose to connect to this server, and join the channel (if the channel is writen),
but in my siyuation after clicking on tnis link my browser (opera) shows this dialogue:

...unknown type of adress, unable to contact server...

I do not believe Opera supports irc:// links, I think it's only for Internet Explorer (and Mozilla FireFox). Also, you don't need the # symbol in the channel name, you can just do: <a href="irc://network/channel" target="_blank">irc://network/channel</a> rather than <a href="irc://network/#channel." target="_blank">irc://network/#channel.</a>

Edit:Apparently Opera can be set to support irc:// links, thanks CtrlAltDel for providing the info smile (Sorry, I've never used Opera, I'm happy with IE)

thanks. I have tried it in Explorer : it working... but I don`t like explorer ... Anyway, senx....

And the last question:

On Opera browser it is impossible to make this links working? I understand correctly? shocked

In Opera 7.5, go to Tools > Preferences... > Programs and paths and click the "Add" button under "Protocols". This will open a dialog box called "Protocols". Now, simply enter the protocol in the "Protocol" field without a colon or slashes (for example, you can enter "irc", but not "irc:" or "irc://"), and either set Opera to use the system default application to handle this protocol, or specify one in the "Open with other application" field.
