Forums mIRC Help my mIRC is not registering anything said in a chan

i dont understand it, Ive made zero changes since I last used it, but now it doesnt register anything about says in any channell on any server

It does however, allow me to see join, quits, nick changes and actions, basically, everything except anything anyone says

Please help as I *really* dont want to have to start fresh, Ive put wayyyyy too many hours into this to have to start over again from scratch

well, since you said its happening in all channels on all servers, my first thoughts are somehow you may have the text set to the same colour as your background (look in the colors dialog, the icon that looks like crayons, or hold down your alt key and click the k key) or perhaps some script is putting the world on ignore (look in the addy book to see who is on ignore, click on the icon for it or use alt b then click on the control tab there). Does it happen on other networks too?

yeah, the font color was the first thing I checked, and its not that

its happening on all networks and all rooms

I closed it, and removed everything under [ignore] in the control.ini file

also used alt+b and there was nothig listed in the ignore options

have you any other ideas?

Im desperate as I'm dreading having to start again with addons etc to get it set up the way I like

Hi Drake,

I'd suggest it may be something you have loaded that is preventing the text being displayed, as a test try turning remote off ( dont unload anything just turn it off ).

I'm guessing its a setting in one the items you have loaded.

ok, sorry, but you are going to have to explain to me how I turn remotes off without unloading them

Simply type /remote off
