I was one of those people in DALnet's #mIRC, along with a number of other helpers. Just to save people from making the usual (and most likely) suggestions, this is a lo down of what we went through online before coming here (also requested to be posted by jwwolf):

- checked $ip | /localinfo -u.
- checked port issues.
- checked ISP firewall.
- checked XP firewall.
- checked router port forwarding (referred to Linksys website).
- referred to Can't DCC Send thread.
- tried numerous port settings.
- no Norton Desktop installed.
- not connecting through proxy.
- tried 6.12 fresh install incase it was a 6.14 issue.
- "Bind sockets to IP address" and inputting LAN IP.
- tried with at least 4/5 different users with different port settings. All failed.
- Error message "Unable to connect" appears in a DCC chat window rather than status.
- DCC ignore/DCCALLOW is not an issue.
- tried DCC with /remote off and fresh install of 6.14, so it's not OmenServe as far as we could tell.

So at a guess this is a more technical issue, possibly not even related to mIRC (but I know we gots some fine people here smile). The fact that it's an 'Fserve' seems rather unrelated as a basic DCC chat/send could not be initiated with any of us.

Our last resort was to suggest posting here on the off chance someone has a wondumerous idea we overlooked (or simply didn't know about!)

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

I can initiate a DCC session with my wireless connection (Laptop -> Router -> 'net).
