Forums Connection Issues DCC and fserve

Hello all,

My configuration:
- mIRC v6.14
- no firewall
- no proxy, etc...
- identd works
- XP firewall disabled
- DCC ignore disabled

I have a strange problem. When i recieved a DCC, it works one time on two. Here the message:
"
Toto DCC Send filename.zip (XX.XX.XX.XX)
DCC Get of filename.zip from Toto incomplete (unable to connect)"
"

The fserver retry and at the second-third retry, it works. I have the same problem with any fservers.

I have seen something strange too: when i have a dcc in progress, i can't connect to any fserver (the same or another), i must wait the dcc finish.

I think i have well configured the DCC because it works sometimes.

With mIRC v5.91 i haven't any problem.

It's very annoying because i have a big list of files to get...
Any ideas ?

Hi!

It's usually a sender problem.
Maybe Toto's XX.XX.XX.XX IP is not the public one but its NAT private IP.
Tell him to check it's localinfo (if he's using mIRC: Options > Connect > Local Info)
(BTW: mIRC is not a file sharing program, but a chat client)

Obviously mIRC 6.14 have a strange bug with DCC. I have XP, (mIRC 6.14), with firewall (ZA) and static IP (also without fserve) with same problem. And a lot of my friends too. There is also one option, to choose some else irc client if this bug keep going..
