hi,

why are there no things like $regread $regwrite for the registry?
I had to write my own dll..

People believe it represents a huge security risk, So suggestions of even $regread alone have been opposed in the past.

Notwithstanding, If you search around you'll find COM snippets to do that Job.

considering it can already be done with COM, he might as well just add it and also add a lock feature for $regread, /regwrite, /regdel

thx for answer,

i just thougt if u can use $read /write (there is also a risc), then it wouldnt be a prob to add registry functions frown

Just because it can be done via alternate routes is no reason to add it. Both because it still is a security issue, and because there is an alternative available.
