Hi,

My system hour as changed my time to ajust daylight as it does twice a year. mIRC asn't noticed the time change as is still displaying time a hour sooner than the new system time.

I tried to change manually my system time and mIRC noticed it.
So I guess there's an error in the way mIRC check the current system time.

6.14 didn't cure this on my PCs until this weekend, when the US DST kicked in. Same for most of my friends. Looks like mIRC uses something other than the Windows clock and DST settings to determine the current time and offset, I remember seeing another post either here or in Usenet where someone mentioned that mIRC uses an older DLL call that has the US DST changeover dates in it, bypassing the Windows clock settings.

I had no problems with DST - I'm in Toronto, Canada and had switched over this past weekend.

Using: mIRC 6.14, win2kpro

Just a general reply, I don't see much point starting a really long thread about a bug that has already been reported, and many people have contributed to. It's only going to cause confusion for people browsing the boards and cause loads of "new posts" to come up that are just repetitions of ones that already exist smile

Two main solutions have been found that solves this issue for 95% of people (or even 100%):

1) Upgrade mIRC to the latest version, 6.14
2) Disable the auto-update DST time feature in the Windows clock and set the time manually.

There was also a report that the time should resolve itself too because of the way mIRC is coded.

ParaBrat gave a link to the original thread in her post, might want to take a look at it.

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

No, I was using mIRC 6.14 at the moment I noticed the bug.
