I'm using mIRC version 6.14
My OS is Windows XP Pro SP1
Computer: AMD XP 2500+, Epox 8RDA+, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

Problem:
mirc.exe is using increasing amounts of memory. I've been running it now for about 3 days in 3 networks (one using SSL) and taskmanager shows the following:

Memory Usage: 10 468 K
Peak Mem Usage: 299 332 K
VM Size: 676 200 K
Page Faults: 2 065 702

I have seen the memory usage above 15mb only once but after a while it went back to ~12mb. The anonying thing is the pagefile usage and it only keeps growing the longer i run mIRC. Restarting the program solves the problem but i want to find the reason for it so i can run it 24/7 as i haven't had these problems always. I have no idea though what change that i've made could have caused this. Any solutions?

Are you running any scripts? If you are try unloading them and restarting mIRC, then see if it still occurs.

Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

Already tried it and no help, i don't have any viruses either, scanned with latest Norton. Could it be the network that uses SSL?

If you get the memory back by just restarting the program, then I'd say it's not actually "leaking" memory, but simply using memeory. This might be just because you have a large scrollback buffer size and are in a lot of channels.

Try typing the command /clearall and see if the memory usage goes back to "normal".

My scrollback buffer is the default 5000. /clearall helps for the memory usage but doesn't affect the huge pagefile usage, it stays very big. I'm trying with yet another fresh install of mIRC now with absolutely no scripts at all and been running for about 12 hours and pagefile usage is now 50mb and rising, peak memory usage is 19mb.
