Why can I not do a cut and paste in MIRC windows. If i want to use something like /ctcp xxxxxxxxx , I have to type in the whole thing.

Strange situation.... I have never not been able to cut/paste from or to mIRC. Are you able to cut and paste using other applications?

Actually I have determined this morning that the cut and paste works, however you know when you highlight something in windows to do the cut, will in MIRC the highlight goes away, but if I do a cntl-c the cut still works.

There's no actual cut action in mIRC - when you highlight and then let go, what you highlighted gets cut already, all you do then is paste the normal way - right click, press paste wazaam!

only problem is the inability to select just 1 character :-[ you always have to select 2 :-[

I'd say that's a feature to prevent people from accidentally dragging and losing their clipboard content.

I dont know about you... bu i can select one character.

your using mIRC 6.03 then?

I can really only select 2 chars... which can be a pain... but you can overcome it by a small hit on the [DEL] or [<-] ;-]

I can't copy only one character, I have to copy 2 and then use DEL or Backspace. That's kinda annoying.

But, if you have to type a nickname, I have a solution! When you're on a channel and you want to type someone's nick ( I assume this person is on the same channel), you should only type his/her nickname's first characters and hit TAB key. For an example, if you want to type Augux{qwerty} and this is kinda hard for you and you can't or don't want to copy, just type "Aug" (w/o quotes) and hit TAB. If another nickname appears, keep hitting till Augux{qwerty} appears. That's it, long for me to explain, but very simple to do.
