I guess that such suggestions have happened in the past but I wanna state my opinion. Sure there are numerous alternatives for Linux (X-Chat, Bitch-X, etc.) but I like mIRC more; and I guess many other ppl do so. It's really weird why no-one hasn't made a mIRC client for linux... Okay I can run mIRC with wine(x) but still a native linux app would be better

How much of a head start does Linux need? I forget when it was first released but its been a pretty long time and it still only accounts for about 5% of total usage, meaning desktops and servers combined.

As for your second remark, there's no flame that I can see, just a link to the official mIRC website explaining that there NEVER will be a port of mIRC for other operating systems.

The subject of mIRC4Linux does appear fairly often but the author probably can't make his intentions any clearer.

If you like mIRC better, then run it in wine.

I personally think IRC clients are an acquired taste.

mirc 16 bits can be runned in linux with som work.. but if you running a good OS, why mess it up with other stuff then the ones that are suposed to be used with *nix ? bitchX is nice , just takes som time to get used to it.. but when you been using it a while you dont want to go back to mirc again wink and bitchX are populare among window users too, its a script out there that behaves exactly as bitchX. I tryed that a while ago, but i prefere to telnet to a *nix comp and use the real thing grin
