dunno if this has been posted already but im too lazy to check anyway..

network specific ident..

and if you cant add that then atleast add something like $localport so we can script our own

Whether the identd is changed to allow this, or not (a good idea in my opinion) I would still like to see $localport or some other identifier to tell me which local port mirc is using for a server connection.


If I knew now what I will know then... maybe things will have been different...

Hi!

I don't know why you'd like to know the random local port used by mIRC, don't see any application... but anyway, if you're using Win2k or XP, run cmd.exe
and type: netstat -a
It will show you all active connections, proto and ports.

Under the ALT+O > Connect > Ident setting, you can select [x] Use ID from email address.

When you do this, whatever you have set for that connection's email address will be used in the ident response. For more information on how to specify a different email address for multiple connections, please see this document.
