I think it will be good if mIRC will be able to display icons with the chat text
Something like this …..:
/echo @window hello $icon(smile.ico)
Will show
Hello smile ..
Can it be done?

One other thing, as I wrote here before the board crash,
An option to create right-to-left custom windows is needed
A custom window that will display all his text from right to left

This has been rasied before and just so you know, they are called emoticons for the on-channel ones and in the nick list they are 'avatars'.

I support introducing both for two reasons...

1. Other IRC programmes/Java applets already use them.

2. It, to some, would make mIRC look interesting - perhaps younger users.

If the feature can be turned off, like scripted talkers and colour codes can then it would do no-one any harm.

personally I think ascii > pics...

but avatars for nicklist would be usefull. I now use a dll script to change the names in the nicklist to have a @%+- icon before the name... which slows down the joining of channels a bit

Right to left support for your own viewing would be pretty easy to script. It's just a matter of reversing the letters. Sending it to others would also not be any more difficult (tho they may or may not appreciate seeing things backwards). laugh

the whole rtl thing isn't just text backwards, its a completely RTL interface. Several languages use rtl instead of ltr, as such most of the software created in such places or for such places supports a reversed interface, including windows.

Flip an image in your desired image editor, this is what RTL looks like.

Yes, I do know about right-to-left languages (I work with Japanese a lot with game translating, though that isn't in rtl format). Anyhow, other than the input, everything else could be displayed backwards.
