Forums mIRC Help Weird keyboard layout in mIRC?

I'm using windowsXP and have been using mIRC for a while now.

When I'm typing in notepad for example, I have no problems with my keyboard layout, its exactly the same as my real keyboard.

However, when I'm typing in mIRC, its a whole different keyboard layout? I didn't change any options, didn't install a script or whatsoever.

How could this happen and more important, how do I change the mIRC keyboard settings, so I can type normally again?

if # is \ or vice versa try holding alt and pressing shift.
