Sorry to bring this up again...I read the previous thread (locked) on this subject as it just happened to me.. it took me nearly 2 hours to read it.
I found out what was happening with mine.
There were some changes on my favourite server .. don't know what.
I was locked out as soon as I got on..after approx 30 seconds. This was quite serious as I have 3 channels. 2 days i've been trying to solve it.
I have SYGATE firewall and mIRC was allowed access so i knew it wasn't that causing the problem. *cough* .. Yes it was!!... I looked at the firewall log on the second day.. and lo and behold, there it was, in the blocked applications.
Someone I spoke to said change the Port Scanning in Opotions>Security> untick Enable Port Scan Detection.
I'm now back in my channels .. all OK
