I, and a few others, have tried to get a @window to flash when there is new info sent to to when its minimized, but to no avail.
Have used "aline -h @window %stuff" as well as "echo -bf @window %stuff" and there is no flashing or beep&flash as documented. The info will go to the minimized window fine.. it just wont flash

Is thee a work around for this or were we all having a bad night of scripting?

smile

Its not the flashing in the titlebar that I am after.. its when I am in mIRC, in say #mIRC and have say @Throttle minimized. my script writes to that window with the aforementioned switches.. it should flash within mIRC.

I want it to be like when I am in #mIRC doing stuff and Parabrat is msging me but that message window is minimized.. I can tell that Para is typing me something cuz the icon flashes, but I am ignoring Para :P~

Know what I mean Vern??

Make sure you have a colour selected in..

ALT+O->Display->Message (Select red and try).

Otherwise /aline -h @windows text works fine for me when using v6.12

You won't like it when I get angry.

Ah Blinking the icon... well this is what the help says about that.
  • Blink icons
Blinks the icon in switchbar buttons for query/chat windows if there's a message/highlight event, or a flash event.

From versions.txt
  • Blink feature now only blinks icons for query/chat windows, and
on channels or the message window only if a highlight event was
    triggered.

Not for custom @windows smirk

take care.

No that just sets the button text color, it doesn't blink the icon. :[/b]/

I have exactly the same problem.
I can disable the flashing in the DCC CHAT window menu that is accessible by single clicking the left up icon.
But I have to do that for each new DCC CHAT.
I cannot find any setting for it in menu. Tried them all.

The exact description of the flashing is:
When mIRC is not the active window the mIRC window titlebar and taskbar item starts to flash.
When making it then the active, the DCC CHAT window button in the bar flashes until selection.

I tried in my script flash -r0 (zero repeats) without success.

OS is Windows 98 oem if that is relevant.
