Is there any way to transfer files that have a \ character in the filename, short of renaming the offending file before, and then after the transfer?

for example, the filename "ƒ‚[ƒjƒ“ƒO–ºƒ\ƒ“ƒO‰ÌŽŒ.txt" shows up in the transfer dialog as "ƒ“ƒO‰ÌŽŒ.txt" under the path ƒ‚[ƒjƒ“ƒOƒ€ƒX ƒƒ\ And of course, netiher that path, nor that filename exist.

[This is from Windows sending the filename in the local encoding off the application (in my case SJIS for mIRC (the default for non-unicode apps)) , as opposed to Unicode for applications with the necessary settings enabled. With Windows expecting that file-access be done in the local encoding of the application (duh), it would interpret the ƒ\ phrase as a single character, and not as a f(cant type the offending character as it is a lead-byte) and a path delimiter.]

well, to my knowledge there is no way to have a "\" in a filename, as it is used by directories... just open windows explorer and try to rename a file.
