Forums mIRC Help DCC Get

Hi all im a noobi to mirc so this is probly a stupid question but here it is:
i have got DCC ignor set to disabled and i have been trying to download files but affter i accecpt the transfer the connection fails and it doesnt download the file....i have got Cable internet which rules out time-out was just wondering if it could have something to do with ZoneAlarm v4.5 i have check the settings and there is nothing that stands out any ideas?

i can dounload zip files but wen i try tar files it fails...so dont know if the size of the file matters also i uninstalled ZoneAlarm still same result so its not the firewall.....any ideas?

-if you can download zip or any file, your dcc is working fine. Double check to be sure (yes i know you said you disabled ignore but it never hurts to check) you arent ignoring .tar files. Ask in a help channel for the network you are on if they require a specific command to allow certain file types and if .tar is one of them. Size could be a factor only as far as your provider is concerned. The other factor to consider is that the problem is on the senders end, not yours.

thanx and sorry im usually paintent when it comes to these things but my isp has given me a bonus 3gig on my monthly allowance so anyways....i checked the dcc ignore and i tryed to manualy allow .tar files it just doesnt seem to want to work and this is in a number of different chanles thats why im pritty sure its got something to do with me and not the ppl im trying to get it from...but yeah im outa ideas....so thanx anyways..and any more ideas would be appreaciated.

I am guessing this is part of feature of the lastest irc.

Options > DCC > ignore .. (select ignore only) then make sure the extensions that you want to download are NOT there

CtrlAltDel i did chech that theres nothing there bout ignoring *.tar files thats why im so stumped i cant find any reason why it wont dounload the file i dont know if its against the rules but im just gonna tell you what im trying to download(if it is then moderators just edit it or delete it this post) but basically im trying to get <deleted> pluss alot of other channels i have tryed in most of them but if you guys wanna try and see if it works then be my guest, thanx alot pll
